very poor service indeed

Approx a month ago my son was involved in a small fender bender which resulted in the drivers side mirror of a Tata Indica 2007 model being **********. I called Imperial Select Table View Multifranchise, placed and order with Mark Hendricks who requested the VIN number of the vehicle in order to ensure that the correct mirror was ordered. This was all done and paid for on the 18th Jan 2016 with a promise that as soon as the part arrived, my son would be contacted to collect. The part arrived a few days later and he was phoned once - I should have known at this time that there was trouble brewing, no follow up call. My enquiry a few days later resulted in confirmation from Mark that the part was indeed in their possession. Next we needed to arrange the appointment to fit the part which was scheduled by the owner of the vehicle for the 13th Feb as this was the 1st available time slot. I was told that the job should not take more than one and a half hours. I met the owner of the vehicle at the dealership at 9.00 am on the 13th to hand over the money for the job and left being assured that all would be taken care off. The owner was dropped off at home and was told that he would be called as soon as the car was ready for collection. Well at 16.30 that afternoon the owner was called, only to be told that the job was not done as the incorrect part was ordered and that it does not match the vehicle. This discovery I might add took the whole day, really?????

Why was he not called earlier in the day, could it be that the dealserhip was trying to avoid conflict. When the owner eventually got back to the dealership just before closing time, he was told that the parts manager was in JHB until Wednesday and that he would need to wait for him to return before anything could be done. Do we not have cellphones in SA??? What disgusting customer service was being experienced by the owner who is an eldery gentleman who was being terribly inconvenienced by a bunch of idiots working at Imperial Select Tableview Multifranchise. He was told that he will be contacted by the lastest Thursday 15th Feb 2017. Why did Mark insist on the VIN number when he ordered the incorrect part in anycase, what was the point of his insistence?

I expect at the very least that the dealership will prioritise this problem and correct the incorrect order at no further expense to the "customer". I also expect at the very least that a discount be given to the owner of the vehicle for the ********** inconvenience caused by this encounter which leaves a very bitter taste in my mouth. Needless to say, I will never utilise this dealership for any kind of dealings going forward and I will also share this terrible experience with anyone who will listen.
