UNHAPPY, AND DISSAPOINTED DUE TO LACK OF SERVICE RECEIVED
I purchased a Hyhundai I20 vehicle (hereinafter referred to as the vehicle) from Imperial Select Menlyn in and during November 2018 and same was financed with Absa.
Since the start of the transaction same was rocky roads and writer hereof wanted to cancel the sale at numerous stages in the transactions. The vehicle was delivered to writer hereof and I was informed that same was for a road worthy and everything is in order with the sale of the vehicle.
I was assured the vehicle went in for its 30 000km service and all is in order. The license disc on the vehicle at that stage of delivery was valid until June 2019.
The vehicle went in for its 45 000km wherein writer was informed the brakes needs to be replaced as they are worn out and wipers as well as the tires on the vehicle. Which I find strange that they didn’t pick that up on the 30 000km service. But that is not the problem or complaint at this stage.
Up until even date I was never provided with a updated license disc for the vehicle. My mother and I was at collection of the vehicle assured that same will be couriered or my mother will be informed to collect which never happened. During June of this year I enquired but no feedback as to when I will receive my new disc. I attempted to renew same on FNB Application wherein It reflected that the disc is indeed valid until February 2020 and cannot be renewed which confirms that the registration only took place then.
After numerous unsuccessful attempts I attended to the licensing department personally whom informed me the vehicle was either never put through a road worthy test or alternatively that your offices only registered the Vehicle in February 2019 which means the road worthy certificate has indeed expired. I requested a copy from the consultant whom informed me the file is in archives and he cannot assist. He also advised that I should take my own vehicle for a road worthy in order to attend to license which is nonsocial due to the fact that your offices should have registered the vehicle within 60 days after the road worthy was conducted.
During March 2019 the consultant only informed me my I10 has outstanding fines which may prohibit me from renewing my disc. Which correspondence can be produced on request. which was also not the case as there was n outstanding traffic fines.
How can one expect the client after the vehicle was purchased and delivered to attend to a second roadworthy in order to obtain the license disc which was supposed to be dealt with by the dealer.
I was recently in a minor accident wherein a woman skipped the stop street and damaged my vehicle passenger door. Unfortunately due to your company failure/neglect to register my vehicle timeously I cannot claim from her insurance in light of the fact that I am actually indeed driving an unroadworthy vehicle which is not legal on the road. I currently suffered severe damages to your company’s neglect and failure not only with fines I have to pay for driving a vehicle with no valid license disc but also whom will attend to my repair of the said vehicle. my damages to the vehicle is over R44 000.00 and i therefore am of the opinion that your company is liable for the damages and i request your offices to attend to same due to the fact that this could have been prevented had your offices attended to the registration of my vehicle and not left me to drive un licensed vehicle.
I will copy you in on the mail that I will send to the Motus Director that Menlyn reports to.
