Title: Sold me a defective car. Vehicle Returned Unrepaired Despite Ongoing Defects Reported Within Months of Purchase

I am extremely disappointed with my experience with Motus Select George following the purchase of a 2019 Ford EcoSport.

I purchased the vehicle on 13 June 2026, and it was registered in my name on 24 June 2026. Within a very short period after taking delivery, I began experiencing a number of issues with the vehicle, including a recurring "Charging System Service Now" warning and tyre pressure monitoring faults. These concerns were reported to the dealership promptly and repeatedly over the following weeks.

Given that I purchased the vehicle from a reputable dealership, I trusted that it had been properly inspected and was in good working order when sold. Unfortunately, my experience has been the complete opposite.

After numerous communications, workshop visits, photographs of warning messages, and assurances that the matter would be investigated, I was recently informed that the alternator failure is considered "wear and tear" and that I would be expected to contribute 50% of the repair costs. I disagreed with this position, particularly because the defect was reported shortly after delivery and well within the six-month warranty period.

Today, Motus returned my vehicle to me. Shockingly, none of the mechanical issues have been repaired. The vehicle has been returned in substantially the same condition as when it was handed over for repairs. The charging system fault remains unresolved, and I am once again left with a vehicle that I do not feel confident driving.

What is even more frustrating is that I am not a high-mileage driver. I have driven the vehicle very little since purchasing it, making it difficult to accept that a major component failure occurring so soon after purchase should simply be regarded as my responsibility.

As a consumer, I believe it is reasonable to expect that a vehicle purchased from a dealership will be reliable, roadworthy, and supported when significant defects are identified shortly after sale. Instead, I have spent months trying to have legitimate concerns addressed, only to have the vehicle returned without the necessary repairs being completed.

I sincerely hope that Motus Select management reviews this matter and takes the opportunity to resolve it fairly. At present, I am left feeling disappointed, unsupported, and questioning the quality inspections conducted before vehicles are offered for sale.

I would appreciate a response from Motus Select senior management regarding why the vehicle was returned to me without the identified mechanical faults being repaired.
