Terrible Service

Hi,

I’m terribly disappointed with the level of service I have received from Imperial Select Menlyn.

I purchased a 2012 KIA Cerato at the end of June 2016.I was told that the vehicle had undergone a thorough inspection from their mechanics and had undergone an AA multi check.

When I asked for the report from the AA, Werner (saleperson) claimed that he was having problems getting the report.

I took this at face value and chose to trust that the vehicle had been checked. I was clearly being **** to. At the end of the day it was found that the vehicle had the following issues:

· Rear windscreen wiper severely damaged

· Rear license plate *******ly fitted

· Spare wheel incorrect size

· Rear shocks completely worn

· Rear tyres, even with good tread, had terrible flat spots as a result of worn shocks.

· Turns out the vehicle had also been in an accident, front and back damage was picked up

On several occasions I tried to get Imperial Select to attend to these issues

After being ignored over and over I eventually did some of the repair work myself, got new tyres and fixed license plates etc. After a bit of fighting I eventually managed to get Imperial Select to install new shocks and replace spare wheel.

I made an appointment with them, drove all the way to Pretoria from JHB and was forced to spend money on taking the Gautrain to work and back.

And after all this, they had not bothered to order new shocks or replace the spare wheel.

I have wasted time, money, and leave days for nothing.

I then found out that Imperial Select had sold me a car with accident damage.

They claimed they would never do such a thing and insisted on doing an internal inspection. A week later they agreed the vehicle did indeed have some accident damage and agreed to replace the vehicle.

They had the decency to supply me with a courtesy vehicle which I drove around for a month, however, I was in for a nasty surprise.

While driving the courtesy vehicle I was pulled over and given a R500 fine as the license had expired months ago. I have made several enquiries on a refund but to no avail.

Imperial Select eventually they would swap the car I purchased, but instead of swapping the car I got my original car back, which is not safe to drive. I made a complaint to them about this and this was ignored once again. I then tried to make an appointment to see Raymond Thomas, their dealer principle.

Things finally seemed to move along but when it came time to confirm a time for the appointment I was ignored again.

I even made a complaint directly with their customer service department and this was also ignored.

Anyone that is looking into purchasing a vehicle from Imperial Select should contact another dealership. Not only was I subjected to various faults and inconveniences, but the customer service I was given was shoddy. Clearly this dealership feels that they are not only above the law, but above servicing their clientele. Therefore, I advise you to take your business elsewhere.
