SOLD A FAULTY CAR @ IMPERIAL SELECT EDENVALE

good day

i bought a FAW V2 from Imperial Select (Edenvale) on the 21st of July 2016.
on the 22nd i was off work so i didn't use the car.
on the 23rd at around 14h30, the car started giving me problems, the car would not start, with a tank full of petrol and not indications on the dashboard, i was stranded at Northgate mall. i called the sales lady (zee ngwenya) to help me or help understanding what was happening with the car. she gave me her colleagues number so he could advise me. Male bystanders tried to assist me but failed, eventually the car started again. this would happen periodically with no warning or reason. sometimes even at a traffic light. i alerted the team at the dealership that this car did this a lot. i have several witnesses who would attest to be stuck me with on numerous occasions. Since it was the weekend, i drove straight home and thought that by Monday the people at the dealership would come and assist me.

on the 26th of july, i sent the dealership an email and CC the relevant sales lady informing them again, formally this time of my complaints.
Nokwazi ********** m>
Jul 26

to isandofni, PZ

Good day

I bought a car from you last week Wednesday, on Friday I had a problem where I was stuck at the mall and the car would not start. Various bystanders came to assist but failed to help. It eventually started up on its own. I called to inform zee ngwenya of the problems I was experiencing.

Since it was the weekend I though not to make a fuss but regretfully it was not to my benefit. The car continued with this problem several times.

I would like a different car, this one is too problematic and unreliable I feel.

Kind regards
Nokwazi Zondo

on the 27th of July, i went to the dealership to take the car back and talk to the dealership principle (manger Johan). i told him the problem i was experiencing with the car, he didn't believe me and out right was very rude to me and my friend who had accompanied me. he at some point tried to call someone, im not sure who anymore to reaffirm that there was nothing wrong with the car. he repeatedly said i don't have proof to support me claims, rudely even told me to take a video the next time the car gave me problems. he promised to follow up with the person he was trying to call( i recorded him saying this) but he didn't do a follow up nor did he ever call to check whether the car was giving me further problems. i remember him repeated bullying me and telling me that there is nothing wrong with the car, making me feel like i was an idiot for even complaining to him.

the dealership driver came to fetch the car on the 28th, after the sales lady saw the bad treatment i had received from her boss. she advised that they would take it into the workshop and finally find out what the problem was. she suggested that it could be because i didn't have the original key, which was the first i was hearing abut this, keep in mind i was never given a second key in any case.

the car was in the workshop for 1-2 weeks, i was given a courtesy car by zee to use, around the 6th of august, i alerted zee that the car had not come back to me and asked why, i was not given a valid answer. later that week i was told the car would be taken to get serviced, i tried to ask Kenneth not to take it to service because the year nor the stipulated KM's had been used. the car was serviced regardless of my wishes. the car later that week came back to me, i was given no formal report of what they were doing to the car for the past 2 weeks.

i took the car back and used it for less then a month and a new problem came up. the car radio stopped working.

on the 13th of September i alerted zee that my car radio had stopped working for over a week , she said she would send mosedi(driver) to come fetch the car but eventually, thy didn't even bother. i had to follow up my self by constantly calling and physically going to the dealership, but all efforts in vain.

on the 19th of September, i started having problems with the gears of the car, i alerted zee and told her the dangers and inconvenience of this problem. she promised once again to send to mosedi to fetch the car, i felt at this time that she was being no help to me and instead i was being pushed to the side and being ignored.

on the 22nd of September, i sent an email to the dealerships customer relations/care as copied below, alerting them to how unsafe i felt the car was.

FW: Imperial Select -
