No protection from ********* dealers
Further to complaint last year per below, response from dealer was had to wait for Motor Industry Ombudsmen response, they have finalysed by saying that it was a wear and tear item, ignoring the issue that the vehicle was sold to me with the defect. The Ombudsmen never phoned me only the dealer, a very one sided decision to make, Will never purchase anything from Imperial again, will try Consumer Protection A

I purchased my vehicle with a extended warranty, the warranty was never explained to me regards a limitation in cover, I was therefore under the impression I had full warranty for all mechanical breakdowns. I had to have my entire clutch replaced 5 months after purchase and the warranty only covered R 1500 of the R20,000 repair. The Warranty was only sent to me when the car broke down I would never have purchased the vehicle if the warranty had been explained to me.
I have reported this to the Motor Industry Ombudsman and the FAIS Ombudsman, but they appear to be powerless in spite of the contract of sale saying we have recourse to these bodies if unhappy. This is far from the truth, we as the people of South Africa are unprotected against ************ dealers it would seem.
