Motus Toyota Bryaston The Patronising and treatment of Disregard

On the 14 of June 2022 I was visiting Motus Toyota Bryanston to view cars on request from my cousin Kwanele Mfuphi who is a client of Toyota and has been for the past ten years. As I was driving in I damaged my car’s side bumper (sill cover) by an uneven groove on their gate rail on entrance at the dealership which appeared to be an improper fitment of their gate rail. This happened in full view is of the security guard who then told me that they always have people banging their cars on that spot and management has not done anything about it when told. So I made him write a report of what had just occurred for the record. I then reported this to their management and that 45 minutes exercise proved to be tedious and futile. (Their lady management on site attempted to shift accountability to the JHB Municipality saying that’s their road that I was driving in so I should complain to them I assertively disagreed with her on that. She then moved on to blaming the ClearView Fencing contractor for fitting that gate rail implying that I should take it up with them I again disputed the patronising accusations of responsibility shifting). Ultimately their dealer principle at first appeared to be professional and willing to take responsibility for the incident. However later changed and sent me an email saying that they as Motus Toyota do not believe that they are responsible for what happened without stating reasons for this belief. When I try to make contact to get clarity he does not take my calls and my visits to the dealership are not acknowledged in attempts to get clarity. Having read some of their reviews here on HelloPeter I can see a pattern of disregard that this dealership has for people.

As a matter of principle and respect I‘ll be taking this matter forward.
