Left out of pocket and more

We bought a car (Mini Cooper S) from Multi Franchise in Midrand on the 22nd of August 2017. On collection 5km down the road the cars engine check light came on and the car lost power.

I returned the car to the dealership and this is where the problem started. The car went in for repairs for the same problem a total of 5 times. Every time I drove it out the dealership it took less than a day to break down again, on 1 occasion by the dealership as I drove out. I drove this car for a total of 4 days since I bought it.

My problems go further than this. On every occasion that I requested an update not once… and I genuinely mean not once has the dealership contacted me when they promised they would. On one of the cars excursions to get repairs I stayed 2 weeks without an update. The general reply would be “ill give you a call in an hour, let me check on it” then days would pass without an update until I call.

Which leads me to the case of not having a car I was paying for. I owned that car for 4 months or so and I drove it for less than 4 days. On requesting a loan vehicle Jurie told me in my face that they do not give out loan vehicles, when I requested to cancel the deal he said id have to go the legal route as the car is in for repairs and they are doing everything on their part to repair it.

I requested a meeting with the dealer principal and I was told he was on leave/holiday yet the next day they telling me "the dealer principal is working on getting the car back on time"

After 2 months without a car and the 5th time the car went in for repairs, I sternly voiced my concern in person at the office which is when they “decided to get me a loan car as a good gesture”

They promised the car would be repaired by the 15th of Dec which never happened, on the week of Christmas they allowed me to cancel the deal.

To add insult to injury I've been waiting for my holding deposit for 5 months. 4 weeks ago I decided to go in person and even gave them proof in the form of a receipt. I've called twice every week and still nothing, The issue of the settlement took so long that I ended up with another debit going off on my account.

I have taken this route as its seems like my only remedy... i would like my holding deposit back, ive accepted the money I lost paying insurance on the car but I feel hard done for the 2 and a half months without transport yet paying for a car (when I told Jurie about this he arrogantly told me I can go the legal route) That’s over 8k that ive lost and someone has to account for it..

We in the 3rd week since I posted my complaint, As seen in the reply from Imperial Select Customer Care Manager they would "resolve the matter with urgency".

It is Today the 9th of FEB, I am yet to be called or even emailed for that matter. I cant for the life of me fathom how nonchalant a company can be about the way they mistreated and continue to mistreat a customer. All i want back if the money owed to me.... I am yet to receive a call or even an email about said situation. I am yet to receive reimbur*****t..... I'm utterly disgusted by your company and its behavior towards me and judging by the complaints I've been reading am not the only one.... The reply from Rennette is merely to dilute the situation and save face.

This situation sums up the level of service and utter disregard I have received from your franchise....

This has been 8 months of hell from you people.... and I have nothing to show for it except a depleted bank account.

I won't hold my breath for a resolution.... but it seems I need to take this matter a tad more seriously.
