Imperial Select Table View disgusting customer service
My Tata Super Ace truck broke down on the 3rd of August 2017. Since that date I have had dealing with both Tata and Table view Multi Franchise. The service up to this point has been beyond understanding and yet I have had no resolution. I am now asking for help from anyone to come to a resolution.
My Tata Truck started making loud engine noises after been serviced two months before. I was told by a local that it was probably a bearing failure so I had it towed to Tata Table view. It took them more than three weeks to have the Tata checked out and submit the warranty claim. I was then told that they would only pay 50% of the parts due to me missing a service. I obviously was dumbfounded by this statement as I have two of these trucks and have them serviced regularly. I then found out that this service interval for these vehicles are every 10000km or 6 months. How bad must these engines be to need a service every 6 months.
Regardless, I tried to speak to the dealer principle, Service manager and Tata head office to resolve this issue. I had never been told about this service interval and every service had been done under warranty, never been told that I should be servicing every 6 months. The dealer principle promised to sort this out for me but never got back to me and never retuned my calls. I spoke to the service manager who promised to come to a resolution and get back to me, but never did. I took my complaints to Tata head office and hit a brick wall there as well, they said because I missed a service they would not honour my warranty. The Tata truck had an engine failure and the service interval would not have made a difference.
The standing truck with the engine failure only has 40000km on it. My other truck only has 20000km. These vehicles are my business and livelihood and it has severely affected us. I have been told that it will cost me almost R40000 to repair the truck, which I cannot afford. I then asked if I could have the cost of the repairs I was promised paid out to me so that I could put it down on a deposit for a new vehicle, which they rejected.
I took my case to Imperial select head office, asking for help. They were much more help, trying to get the local people to resolve my issue. Unfortunately, they were also ignored and no one came back to me. Eventually on 20th of September the Service manager called me to tell me they can offer me no more help. This after I told them that I would not be repairing the vehicle and that they need to purchase it back from me less the repairs. I would then consider buying a new vehicle from them.
I was called on the 25th of September by a sales person to work out a deal, he or anyone else has yet to come back to me. I now have no idea what more to do to resolve this issue. My truck is standing at Tata Table View and no one will help me. It is shocking that I have had to accept this level of service.
