Imperial Select Multifranchise Car Dealership Lying about year models.

In March 2019, I purchased a Renault Sandero from this dealership based in Durban Central. The vehicle sold to me was a 2018 Model and I signed all documentation etc. and the deal was finalized accordingly. Every singe document from the Invoice, finance application, vehicle warranty etc. shows the Year Model to be a 2018. I must admit, I have been happy with the vehicle bar some issues which the Service Department sorted out without any issues (Raeesa and Vimlan are gems to deal with).

In the last few weeks I have been trying to purchase another vehicle (at a different dealer) which required me to trade in the Sandero, all paperwork etc. had been completed and the Sandero was evaluated by the new dealer etc. Yesterday (11/11/2020), I was meant to collect my new vehicle however, prior to me collecting, the dealer requested the Natis Documents (Reg Papers) for the Sandero which I managed to obtain from MFC. Upon submitting same to the dealer, I was instantly told that the vehicle model is incorrect whereby the vehicle is in fact a 2017 Model and not a 2018 Model as was sold to me. This changed the entire deal and I therefore contacted the salesperson Gavin Mitchley at Imperial Select Durban and all he requested was information of the dealer where I was planning to get the new vehicle from. Few minutes later, Gavin calls me to tell me that he has agreed with the salesperson that Imperial Select Durban would purchase my Renault from them at the price originally settled upon. Whilst I don't have a problem with that, I find this to be **********. I purchased a old model vehicle at a new model price, my insurance was based on a newer model and all other costs associated with the vehicle was based on a newer model rather than what the vehicle actually was.

Gavin did not even give me a reason as to why the vehicle was sold to me as a 2018 Model instead of a 2017 Model, I am still liable for a slight shortfall in terms of the vehicle settlement which I think is totally unacceptable.

The vehicle model issue was picked up a few months ago when the car was sent for service as the service department picked up something else on their system and Gavin confirmed via email that the model is definitely a 2018 as opposed to what the system showed. This is ***** and I have emailed Gavin on11/11/2020 and based on previous experiences, he never does reply.

I will however not be taking this lying down as what this dealership has done was totally dishonest.

I have demanded that the dealer takes my back my vehicle and compensates me accordingly for all monies spent on the vehicle due to this being ***** on their part. I have given Gavin till close of business today (12/11/2020) to respond to my email, failure to do so, I will engage with a lawyer to obtain a way forward.

Gavin's attitude is pathetic and borderline ****** it seems. I have a trail of emails whereby I had asked for accident reports, assistance with service plans, etc that have been constantly ignored by him.

Based on some of the other reviews on this site, I am therefore not shocked at my experience with the same individual.
