DISHONEST AND CANIVING

In November 2015 i bought a 2013 1.3 Auris from this supplier. A day after collecting my car i realised that there was a problem with the front seatbelts they were refusing to come out and that the airbag light keeps going on. I informed the franchise and they said they'll send the Toyota people to com look at it. Until January when i took in the car to Toyota Hatfield where i was informed that my car had been invlved in an accident and all the seatbelts andairbags need to be replaced. I never knew that the car had previously been involved in an accident, because the dealership never informed me of this and with a naked eye you are unable to see. Since the car was in an accident Toyota told me that the warranty falls of, even though i'm paying for the warranty. I further engaged the dealership even took the car back to them for about 2 weeks the car was there. In that period they **** saying they took my car for fixng in Joburg at some Toyota, only to discove that they **** they never took the car there. While they said the car was in Joburg, i contacted my tracker company and was informed that my car is around Pretoria. While the car was with them with all these lying and caniving was taking place and since i wasn't having joy with how they were addressing this problem i submitted a complaint at the Motor Industry Ombudsman after receiving a number of legal advise even from Nedbank my financing bank.

I requested a curtesy car while they were busy with the Auris, they agreed but never supp**** it to me.

The Ombudsman has written to them and I've never seen a response from the dealership.

When they eventually brought back the car, the seatbelts are working, but the car was so dirty you could see that they took it to some back door machanics and the airbag light is now always on, meaning my airbags are not working. God forbid that i get involved in an accident. I asked for the papers from AA that proved that they had taken the car there and the car was ruled to be okay, was told of some audit taking place, this was in January 2016 alerady and the papers never made their way to meeven as i'm typing this review.

All I wanted from them is to either give me another car (which is no longer an option) or take the car to Toyota and fix it as per the quotation i received from Hatfield Toyota for about R50000.00. It is unfortunate that the Ombudsman has not made progress in my case. 6 months has now lapsed since i submitted my case, hence i've decided to submit this review.

I think these people are used to robbing people like this. They knew the person who sold them the car and didn't want to go back and ask that person to fix it, or they either knew that the car was in an accident and didn't disclose it to me hoping that i would never find out.

I'm really worried about my exposure in terms of insurance. Will the airbags protect me in case of accident?

If involved in an accident, will my insurance cover me due to this? And when i do eventually want to sell this car i will lose out big time because of these disfuntionalities.

I hope i will get some recurse from this dealership.
