Burnt Seat

I took delivery of Renault Sandero on the 30/10/2017 and on the 01/11/2017 the car had a weird sound coming from the Engine. I booked the vehicle at the nearest Renault Dealership which was the one at Princess Crossing in Roodepoort. The car was booked in without any issues, the vehicle was checked by one of the Service Agent and it did not have any issues.

After a struggle to get a vehicle as promised by the 03/11/2017 , I eventually got the vehicle on the 07/11/2017 , however this time the vehicle had a CIGARETTE BURN on the backseat. I raised this issue with the Service Manager (Richard van Rooyen) who told me that no one at his workshop smokes and according to the Health and Safety no one is allowed to smoke in the workshop, and they were not liable for the damage. I then spoke to Dealer Principal (Jaco van den Berg) who also told me that there is nothing he can do for me and I can escalate him or send an email to whoever and he will respond on email and repeat what he had told me. I then decided to call Renault SA HQ, and spoke to Brad or Brian Smith ( Complaints Manager) who spoke to Jaco and advised me that he cannot force the Dealership to fix the problem if they can't take the responsibility of the damage. Now here is my problem, Jaco said he wanted proof that when I brought in the car it was not damaged, but the Service Agent did not pick any issues from the onset. Another issue is that I DO NOT SMOKE , so how come a car that has spent 7 days at the Dealership all of a sudden it has a cigarette burn, that means it has burned itself. Lack of Professionalism and Customer Service coupled with some Bad Attitude is rife at that Dealership.

I have just moved to the Renault brand and already I'm not happy with the Brand whatsoever. All I wanted to hear was for the Dealership to take ownership and fix the Cigarette burn, hopefully I will get some proper feedback, at the moment my Perception with this Brand is at the All time Low, mind you this is a 2016 Renault Sandero with 26400km on the clock. I took delivery of the vehicle which did not have a Cigarette Burn. PLEASE HELP !!!

Honestly and truly speaking I was not expecting any response from your Dealer Principal or even from the Franchise. This is exactly the level of Service i received, 48 hours later still no response, very unprofessionalism but i'm not amused . I will never ever refer anyone to this Franchise especially the Renault Roodepoort.
