Mistakes in books and ********** customer service

We started quite late in 2020 when things with lockdown and schools didn't stabilise. We've been pushing hard to finish so that my child can continue with Grade 4 next year. When the package was delivered, it was over two weeks or so before I got home and opened it, as my job requires me to travel a lot - another reason for switching to homeschooling. I didn't pick up on their mistake in my attempt to navigate all this new material - I will admit, but I would like to add that they came recommended to me and I trusted them to deliver what I paid for.

Now that we've finally gotten to the last of the books, we realise that Impaq sent us a Grade 2 math book (my child is grade 3) for Term 4. I reported it, and received vague system responses, and a clear "not our problem" attitude.

It's not like I purchased subjects separately; I purchased the complete material for an entire grade.

I would have thought in the light of good customer service that it would be good practice to just apologise and fix their mistake. They chose the opposite approach.

Impaq now not only lost this student for Grade 4 next year due to their horrid customer service, but our youngest as well. I was willing to forgive the spelling mistakes in the language books, but I'm not willing to forgive money-driven companies with no regard for those who support them.

Impaq, your actions will catch up with you if this is the path you choose to take.

Good riddance, and may you get what you give.

Dear Ms Claassen

Thank you for taking my call and for discussing the issue.

As discussed, it is correct that our policy states that any discrepancies must be reported within 7 days, but we do always try and assist our clients as best as we can. Unfortunately, it seems that the incorrect item delivery in this instance was reported close to 4 months after the books were delivered. This does cause a significant issue as the warehouse by that time would of closed for the 2020 academic year.

We sincerely apologise for the inconvenience caused.

Regards,
Impaq

I never saw this reply, but it's worth responding to the misleading nature of it even now, if it will help others. The ABILITY to fix the issue wasn't the issue. I know you could have helped if you wanted to. That's basic common sense in business.
Your rude and unwilling support staff was the issue. As I stated to you before you left this reply.
