Lack of cooperation by impaq in resolving major discrepancies on daughter's grade 11 report

I am deeply aggrieved by the lack of interest shown by Impaq in providing me with evidence regarding my daughter's Term 4 results. The lack of cooperation both from Impaq and St Ellys(the tutor centre) is both appaling and ridiculous to say the least. This has been a Hell-walk for us, especially for my daughter over the past few weeks.

This was our proposed approach to determine the cause of the huge discrepancy.

*Provide us with. the portfolio of evidence: copies of her matked papers. Their response: They were not very helpful and stated that it was impossible to download the memos of the exams.

To date we did not receive any proposal or assistance from Impaq to resolve the matter other than a remark which cost money per subject(16 papers written) and proof futile until the root cause of the huge discrepancy has been determined. We do not want a remark, we want evidence!

Furthermore, when we enrolled our children with Impaq they stated that they were CAPS aligned. When i made an enquiry regarding the final mark and weighting app****, I was told that the report counts 25% for term 1,2 and 3 and 75% for term 4.

With Covid 19 the DBE amended the CAPS weghting to 60% for term 1,2 and 3 and 40% for term 4. Their mark allocation is not aligned to the Covid 19 revised weighting adjustment.

Notwithstanding the above, there is still a major discrepancy with the marks on her report and the lack of interest in resolving the matter, by Impaq and St Ellys.

It shouts out clearly on the report regardless of the weighting, that there are huge mathematical discrepancies in her final mark(%) that Impaq refuses to acknowledge. This is why we are deeply aggrieved.

I do feel that the owner of the tutor centre(St Ellys) Mr Hagen should have taken it upon himself to investigate and rectify the matter with Impaq, as he was my daughter's body of education. My sister, a teacher by profession, called Mr Hagen, as she was very concerned about my daughter. Mr Hagen was extremely bombastic, rude and unprofessional during the conversation with my sister.

The discrepancies on this report directly impacts my daughter's access to university and her hard work which she displayed during this difficult Covid 19 period, becomes futile.

We pay for these services with much sacrifice and are promised Heaven and Earth during enrollment. We are not prepared to settle for less. We demand that this matter gets resolved and that we are provided with the physical evidence. We asked for a detailed grade 2 report from Term 1 to 4 and to date we did not receive any assistance.
