IMPAQ - STAY AWAY

I want to warn any parent who thinks of using Impaq in South Africa or Namibia not to make use of Impaq. They are not interested in education but making money they don't even care who opens a tutor centre and if the person who runs it even has any qualifications. Any Tom, **** and Harry can open up a tutor centre. Which means if you have worket as an assistant at a pet shop you can teach at a Impaq tutor centre or even run your own Impaq Tutor Centre.

We opted for Growing Seedlings Academy in Windhoek Namibia. We ordered the books and then we had to deliver it at there premises. The children are not allowed to bring the books to the house and you can only have a look at the books at the end of a term. All three of my children got a bacterial infection at Growing Seedlings and one of my boys ended up in the hospital. I decided to ask for the books so that they could do the work that was outstanding. I found out that my kids wrote the Assessment for Term 2 but have not even started with Term 2's work. Nothing was done when I contacted Growing Seedlings I was told that it is common practice of all Impaq schools in Namibia to skip Term 2's work. I went through the assessments that my children wrote and was shocked to see the miss spelling of words but they still got a 6's and 7's for work half done. That made me wonder about their assessment for the first term. I was then told that the assistant to the teacher help them writing these assessments (and yes she cannot spell either it seems). Also there is work of the first term that was scratched through and not done. I took out all 3 of my boys. When I complained to Charlene Crouse at Impaq she just said it is not their problem and that it was up to me to get my children through this mess and she is Senior Tutor Relationship Administrator. Before that I have spoken to a few other ladies at Impaq who were much more helpful. I have also spoken to two other Impaq schools in Windhoek and showed them the books and they were appalled by the standard of work. I also find out that my children was not registered at the Department of Education as Growing Seedlings has told me and the best of all is that Impaq Curriculum is not approved by the Department of Education in Namibia. That is the reason why many of these facilities are starting with Cambridge Curriculum. If you ask Growing Seedlings about it, they will deny it.

The last month I have been teaching my boys and I have found numerous errors in the facilitators books and worst of all its not even properly divided into 4 terms work (except for math's and life s****s and that is a mess on its own). I have no choice but to finish this mess and hope that my children will be ready for next year. Sometimes I don't even know how I will finish 3 terms in 5 months but hope for the best. It means this year in December no holiday for me or the kids. We will have to work, work and work till we have everything done.

Please parents if your child is in a Impaq "school" please do the necessary background checks and don't get fooled like me by a nice smile and sweet words . At the end of the day it can cot you big time.

Dear Impaq, I have spoken to Charlene Crouse and nothing has happened and was told it is my fault. So please do not do me any favors. I am mad as hell and I want to tell everyone that will listen about what I went through. I have heard from other parents that they have complained about Growing Seedlings and nothing happened. Impaq did NOTHING. That is why I will take this further. I paid R6000.00 a month just to find out my children cannot read, they cannot write and the first five months was a waste of their time and waste of our money. I will also contact the newspapers in Namibia about this. Regards Anouschka Sauk
