*****ulent Billing – Charged for Electricity While Away

I was away from my apartment in Pretoria from 20 June and to return on the 7 September 2025, staying in Johannesburg. Despite this, I was billed for 122 units of electricity for the period 08 July to 07 August 2025.

When I queried the charge, I was told it's based on meter readings. However, this makes no sense — the apartment was completely unoccupied for over two months, with all appliances switched off. I was not in Pretoria during the billed period at all.

Their solution is that I have to pay R605 for auditing. Another way of making money out of clients. What a disgusting attempt.
