Charges and deposit not paid

I occupied a unit that utilised the services of IMS. I vacated the unit on the last day of July 2023. I received an invoice for the final month, it was approximately 2200 Rands.

My despoil was not refunded therefore thought my deposit will be utilised to make payment. I have been handed over to a debt collection agency who charges ridiculous interest rate.

I have asked they do not call, text or e-mail until IMS clarifies the outstanding amount issue.

It’s been back and forth with IMS, no one can give a straight answer, they keep telling me I must contact the debt collection agency. How are they going to assist? What do you they know regarding my deposit?
