Unauthorized deductions from my total sales
Worst company ever. I only use my card machine once a year. Today when I received my email on the total amount they have to pay me out, they deducted R695 from my account for data fee. I use my machine once a year! Nobody informed me of the R695 data fee to be deducted. I lost all my sales due to this unauthorized deduction. This money is my bread and butter, and ikhoka just stole it without my consent and without informing me. They are lairs and just do as they please. Don’t trust them, they don’t pay you out on your sales! Rather opt for Capitec with their card machine option. Will NEVER trust ikhoka again. Not even yoco does this! Pathetic to ***** from your clients!

08 Oct 2024, 09:22Hi Christa. Thank you for reaching out. We’re sorry to hear about your experience, and we understand the impact of unexpected charges, especially with infrequent card machine use.The R695 data fee is for keeping your machine connected to our network, but we apologize if this wasn’t communicated. We’ve escalated your concern to a specialist who will contact you shortly to discuss this further and find a resolution.

09 Oct 2024, 16:28I was at the doctor and could not answer my phone. I would prefer if the reasons why I must pay R695 for data usage if I only ise my card machine ONCE A YEAR? How do you calculate that? Our uncapped fast fiber per month does not even cost R695 per month! Check my records with ikhokha, and you will see this is only the second time I have used this machine.
If this is how you treat your customers, I want a refund for the machine I purchased last year, as well as the pro rata data I have not used, as this is unacceptable! I don’t even sped R695 a year on data for my phone, now I am being charged that for something I use once a year!!!
This was not communicated to me before I purchased the machine, and I will take this matter further if you do not resolve this! I will also contact the ombudsman, as this is unfair to me as the consumer of your product you sold!
Please communicate your response on this matter via email. That is the only way I want communication from ikhokha, as clearly this company is *************. If you refuse to communicate via email, I will also inform the ombudsman that ikhokha has something to hide because you refuse to communicate via email.

I am still not happy about the data fee as I only used the machine twice for a vouple of purchases, and in no way I used that amount of data. That for me is daylight robery. Even with the terms attched, no amount was stated for data usage, and one does not simply accept to pay any amount of data fee as it pleases ikhokha. If the amount was included in the contract signed I would have definately not bought the ikhokha machine. I will accept the refund of R347.50 for now, as the fee that was deducted from me by ikohoka left me with a great loss of stock. I will still persue this matter further, as I did not agree to pay this excessive data amount, and the amount of times I used the machines data, will not even reach the amount of R32. I am with vodacom, and I load 240MB to the value of R32, and that will cover me for 30 days. How on earth can I use the 7GB to the value of R347.50 for not even 5 transactions on my ikhokha machine. Does that make sense to you?
I also still wish to return the ikhokha machine for a full refund, as ikhokha did not follow the consumer act by stating the financial implications in an amount to prepare me for that huge “data deduction”. I received no communication whatsoever about the amount of data fees ikhokha will charge. It is ikhokha’s obligation to communicate those charges to their clients before it is implemented. The same way the bank communicates their annual bank fee increase, fuel increase monthly to the consumers, electricity increases by eskom annualy, etc. A company can’t just deduct any amount from their clients as they wish and please, as that is an ******** act. I will persue the contra proferentem rule as ikhokha creates/introduces an ambiguous contract clause for ikhoka’s own benefit.
Let me know when the machine will be collected and when I will receive my full refund for the machine.
