No refund

I app**** for the card device online. Submitted all my documents and then asked them if I could do an eft deposit instead of using my credit card to pay for the activation fee. I received an email from Bongiwe to give me the banking details as well as what other documents she requires. I was referred to them by a friend and thus according to their website I should receive a R100 discount on the activation fee. I asked her about this and she said I would get it if I filled the referral code in on the web application. Nevertheless I paid the full R250 amount. She them contacted me to ask for a clearer copy of my ID. Then she came back to me to say that I wasnt credit approved and should rather go for the option to pay for the unit in full instead of renting the unit at R80 per month. I said that I did not want to buy this as I had problems with another bank before with buying a unit that goes faulty and then there is no guarantee. I requested a refund. She then told me that the R250 was non-refundable. Nowhere on either her email or the web was the fee referred to as non-refundable or as an admin fee. It was at all times stated to be an activation fee.
