THE KINGSLEY LUXURY APARTMENTS, CAPE TOWN - MOEMEDI MOTAI S204 D304 : Deposit refund delayed despite reconciliation being issued

1. I rented a unit managed by IGrow Rentals at The Kingsley in Cape Town. 2. My outgoing inspection took place on 30 April 2026. After vacating the property, I experienced significant delays in receiving my deposit reconciliation and refund. 3. Only after repeated follow-ups were quotations, deductions and a reconciliation provided. During the process, certain proposed deductions were later withdrawn or amended after being challenged, which created uncer*****y regarding the accuracy of the reconciliation. 4. I provided my banking details, authorised payment of the undisputed refund amount and requested supporting documentation for the remaining disputed deductions. At the time of writing, I am still awaiting final resolution. 5. To be fair, IGrow has since engaged with my queries, provided a deposit statement and revised parts of the reconciliation. However, the process has been unnecessarily drawn out and has required escalation to the Rental Housing Tribunal. 5. My concern is not with legitimate and properly supported deductions. My concern is with the delays, inconsistent information provided during the process and the difficulty in obtaining timely supporting documentation. 6. In all honesty I would advice you to stay as far away from renting any of their units becasue they are in the business of *****ing people over because they have a deluded idea that rental deposits belong to them. 7. They will manufacture of all sorts of deductions despite their officers not beinbg there on site, they send agents who want to get comission. 8. Like I said, for your own peace of mind, find another agent for your future rental prospects.
