Taavi's Place is an investment, but not a place to live.

This is an investment company, and their focus lies with the investor. Tenants are treated as an annoying cost factor. Before moving in, your emails are answered instantaneously, and the agents do a great job of keeping you in the loop. Once you move in, it's a different story, and every issue is the fault of the developer or a contractor or... Where it becomes clear that they selected an affordable developer to build their space, but little to no thought has gone into what to do once people actually occupy the spaces.

I rented a "luxury apartment" in Ferndale, Taavi's Place, but nothing about this is luxurious. The workmanship throughout the apartment is shoddy, with cupboard doors not closing, *****s *****ed in haphazardly, paint splatters all over the floor etc.

The kitchen has a nice stove, but other than that they really chose the cheapest building materials available. This is a brand new apartment and the doors feel like cardboard and look as if they're about to disintegrate. There were some faults (door handle just broke off before movein, front door not locking well, light fixtures hanging out that still have not been resolved after 2 months of living here. Fault of the developer (who never gets back to me).

Rented a fibre-ready unit, and I was told the fibre would be installed the week after I moved in. This, again, still did not happen, because the contractor they went with has not delivered.

Every issue raised, someone will contact whatever developer or contractor is responsible for the issue, but there's no real follow-up or resolution. The things that did get resolved, took so long that I am feeling vicarious shame. No thought was put into how to actually run this complex. Issues arise, and some people do put effort to resolve them, but there's no real framework in place.

I definitely regret moving in here, as I decided to pay more rent for a bigger and more luxurious space than before, but it turned out to be a real step down.
