Rental deposit dispute

I terminated my lease with IGrow Rentals on 31 May 2023 after being a tenant from 1 November 2021. The reason to terminate was lack of communication regarding rental increase. A notice to increase the rent was sent to an incorrect email address therefore I did not receive the communication. after pleading with agent i was advised in not so many words to get over it and pay the increase. I then decided to terminate the lease agreement not knowing that a nightmare was about to start. An exit inspection was conducted. The report included defects that were there when i occupied the unit in 2021 and I now I am expected to pay for the defects. emails have been sent through to IGrow to try and resolve the issue however they are not being answered. I would like my deposit to be refunded
