Don’t fall for any of iGrow’s selling techniques. They sell a MASSIVE good game, BUT when it comes to managing a property for one’s property portfolio, they are a joke to say the least.

They have so many hidden costs, new charges they impose out of no where. They would email you but all their mails go to some kind of junk folder as they are sending emails in bulk so you never know when they sent you anything.

They hire companies to do their works for them, so one pays for a service on top of a service (profit on profit)

Their rental income calculations forming part of their selling brochures are way higher than what you actually get once tenants are signed up.

As an investor, one would always like to have tenants in your apartment, even if you would like to sell the unit for some reason. After multiple issues/mismanagement over the past 4 years, we wanted to sell the units due to mismanagement so we put the units in the market. The next moment we found out that our tenant requested to move out over Dec, half way through their contract, and they just let her off the hook for free. We went back to our contract with iGrow and indicated clearly to them that their basis of letting her go was not valid, so once again we lost money as we did not have a tenant for a few months.

We recently had another scenario where the tenant needed to pay for additional fees, but instead they charged it to us (their client) where it was clearly stated in the tenant’s contract that it was supposed to be charged to the tenant.

I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND IGROW AS A MANAGEMENT COMPANY FOR ANY INVESTMENT PORTFOLIO.

I’ve mainly dealt with their Pretoria and Johannesburg office and I wish the company heads/owners/pioneers that worked themselves to death to build this company can see this, because in no way it can be easy to build a property development/investment company.
