Occupational rent -denied

Good morning, Viewed a flat which I was interested in buying urgently as primary residence. Bank approved and registration and transferred done to my name. Now agent tells me they need to serve people with notice. I was never told that the flat has someone as I was informed it's a new development. Now the fight is that igrow property don't wanna pay me the occupational rent. I have been sent from pillar to post. Bear in mind the new flat is meant to have new kitchen appliances.
