We rented Igrow property at Sandton Black Break in August 2025 through a rental agent Irene Dladla. Upon moving in we found out that the damages that were there when we came for viewing the apartment were still there. No connections for one of the appliances. We followed up with Irene to arrange for the fixing damages. After a number of unanswered calls, we were referred to Thato Mmatladi, a new agent that took over from Irene. On 20 September, the new agent informed us that in a management meeting they had, it was resolved that we vacate the apartment because the owner was not willing fix the damages. We then moved out on 30 September as per their request. To our surprise we received an October rental bill from Igrow. The reason for bill being that they needed a 30 days notice, and that their inspector did not come to conduct inspection on the apartment prior we moved out. We escalated the matter to Lauren Thornhill, the rental manager however the email was rep**** by a new account manager, Neville Hewett, that promised to review the October rental. However that never happened, instead we received a rental bill with escalated interest weekly, and which included a July rental, which was a month before we occupied the apartment on 1 August. After we received a number of threats, that Igrow would hand over the account, we paid October rental to save our company name, even though we never stayed. The deposit is supposed to be paid on the 14th , that was confirmed in writing by Neville, however to date, the deposit we paid to secure the apartment was never refunded. Ereshia Louw, a new agent informed us that she had just took over and had no previous information about our account. She further informed us that our deposit could only be paid once Igrow suppliers had submitted the invoice for painting the apartment. The last unanswered calls and emails to Neville, Thato and Ereshia were made today (01 December) We have since escalated the matter.
