EXPLOIT TENANT'S DEPOSIT. REFUSE TO GIVE REFUND.

If I am to name any rental agency that is always looking for ways to exploit tenants to the last cent it would be IGrow. IGrow is holding on to our deposit and making us debate for our OWN money that we paid fully without any debate. We had an exit inspection done with IGrow on the 22 May. After the inspection and during the inspection the inspector said everything is ok and the unit is clean. Days after receiving the house keys IGrow was not saying anything about our deposit refund. I then enquired with them. IGrow then rep**** that the unit walls are dirty and that they will deduct R3000 from our deposit to repaint the walls. A WHOLE R3000. Mind you, the inspector said nothing about this because if this was really the case and the walls were dirty as stated, he should have said and we would have recleaned the unit. What IGrow is trying to do now is take advantage of the fact that I am out of the province. They want to use our deposit for normal wear that depreciates over time. Mind you there are no drawings or any drilling on the wall. Our contract says nothing about repainting walls. All they are trying to do is to find loopholes to use our deposit to enhance the unit for the next tenant. which is ********. This company knows nothing about customer service. They are always looking for ways to get money out of tenants. Who uses an entire R3000 to clean the wall? IGrow is really getting desperate in trying to exploit clients. If I were you I would think twice before doing business with them. Because you will fight and run around before getting your deposit back.

Good day Nthabiseng,

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. Upon investigation into the ingoing and outgoing inspection it has been noted that the property was not handed back in the same condition that it was handed to you. This can be confirmed with the  outgoing inspection sheets, which includes accompanying photos.

Due to this unfortunate occurrence we had to remedy this by utilising part of the deposit to bring the apartment back up to standard. This is standard practice in the real estate industry.

If you would like to discuss this matter further, please feel free to contact us.

Kind regards
