Would not recommend Hyundai Silverlakes to anyone
It's completely out of character for me to write a bad review online, but I had such a terrible experience at Hyundai Silverlakes that I feel strongly about helping other women make better choices and go elsewhere when in the market for a new/pre-owned car.
I bought my Ford EcoSport from Hyundai Silverlakes in November 2021 and with every step there were issues and problems.
*I was pressured into finalising the sale in 2 days so that it could count towards their November stats - I was phoned at work every hour, while busy with end of year work wrap-up. As someone who also works for commission, I get where they are coming from and decided to give them the benefit of the doubt and ignore the constant intrusion in my workday. *Danie in finances didn't have the paperwork ready when I arrived at 17:00, after being told that they are staying open after hours just for me. He didn't bother to ask me which bankaccount he should use to set up my installments or on which date it would suit me. *The initial quote included literally every possible extra and after 3 messages reminding him that I do not need an extended warranty, I still receive emails from the vehicle warranty firm requesting when they can activate it. *A week after the purchase, I phoned to enquire about the car's license plates and was told I could pick it up the next day. Upon arrival, no one knew about the plates, I was asked to come again or that they would bring it to my house the next day - when hearing that I would be leaving on holiday the next day, the plates were suddenly there and ready? * The car service record wasn't signed after I was specifically told that the car had its annual service before the purchase. * I enquired about the quality of the tyres before the purchase and was told that I could easily still drive to Cape Town on holiday with those tyres. I took the car to the TyreMart across the road the next day to make sure and was shown how old and cracked the front tyres were - so I had to pay for 2 new tyres a day after buying the car from Hyundai. *Part of the purchase agreement was that Hyundai would repaint the 5 scratch marks on the bonnet. When picking up the car on 30 November, it wasnt done as the paint colour wasn't correct. I was promised they would see to it early January. After sending 3 enquiries, they got back to me with a date which I had to move work committments, in order to leave my car at the dealership for the morning. What was promised to only take 3 hours, ended up taking the whole day and still the paint wasn't done as it would take the panelbeater 2 days to mix the specific colour?
I am really disappointed in the entire experience. Although Gideon tried his best to make things happen, the ball was dropped too many times and I won't be recommending Hyundai Silverlakes to anyone.
