Worst after-sales service ever!

I bought a Hyundai Accent 1.6 auto in 2018 as a demo model from Hyundai Weltevredenpark. It has been sent to Mayfair Gearbox (strangely enough - Hyundai does not work on their own auto cars) a total of 4 x times in 2 years. It would either not select reverse, or it would jerk into gear very roughly. In the meantime I am being told the car was in an accident - but thats not the reason for the gearbox problems... according to Hyundai Roodepoort. Hopefully the gearbox problems are sorted out now... but I'm not holding my breath. Back to the accident damage.... so Hyundai Roodepoort quotes me for a new cradle, new waterbottle and a new bellypan to the tune of R20k. I refuse to pay, as I didnt make an accident so in my opinion I was sold an accident damaged car. I lodged a complaint with Hyundai SA as you can clearly see from the paint job that this car was re-sprayed (mis-matched color on bumper and overspray on the roof). Hyundai SA tells me their records show the car was not in an accident, and I am supposed to complain within 6 months of buying the car according to their terms and conditions. So they are unable to do anything. The response I received from Tyron Brett was very condescending. In his opinion, I made an accident with the car between 45 000km and 60 000km! I even offered my insurance details so they can confirm if I ever claimed for any accident/reported any accident. In the meantime the bellypan is "found" all of a sudden... which makes me wonder if it was even put back the last time it was with Mayfair Gearbox?

I will be lodging a complaint with the Motor Industry Ombudsman, as I want this car repaired, or some sort of assistance offered by Hyundai to fix it or get rid of this wreck.

Rather spend your money elsewhere, save yourself a lot of hassles and don't buy a Hyundai.
