The Hyundai Promise
Good Day
I am a customer of Hyundai Plumstead in Cape Town South Africa. I traded in my Hyundai Grand i10 for the Hyundai IX35 in June 2020 drove the car 2 months and the car just lost power and the oil light went on. I went to the nearest petrol station and checked the oil which was fine. I then booked the car in at Hyundai Plumstead and a few days later was told there is metal fillings in the engine and that I need to pay to get it fixed which I refused to because I didn't have the car 6 months yet.
Hyundai plumstead eventually used my warrenty to fix the vehicle and then refused to license my vehicle. Myself and my husband then went in to sort out the matter and was thrown out by the dealer principal who was not wearing a mask during this pandemic. We then got our lawyer involved and they then decided to license the vehicle and not give our spare key. We got the car back 7 January 2021 and my husband noticed that the car have a vibration when standing at the robot. He messaged the service advisor who said he will find out by the mechanic and never got back to us. We never drove the car then decided to take it back to the dealer. On Tuesday 2 February 2020 we received a call from the service advisor stating that both engine mountings is cracked and that we need to pay R8000 to fix it which we also refused as we did not drive the car long enough to crack engine mountings and it was standing at Hyundai Plumstead since last year.
