Taken for a ride and lack of decent service received from Hyundai East Rand Mall
Recently experiencing issues with my Hyundai IX 35 which I purchased brand new from the East Rand Mall branch as it was cutting out. The AA towed my car to Bosch in East rand road. Bosch then informed me that they were unsure of what had to be done and it would be a " process of elimination " I was not happy with this and instructed them that that is not acceptable and I would arrange for my car to be taken on a flatbed to Hyundai since i didnt want to take the chance of damaging anything. i paid for 3 hours labour and they did not perform any service or change anything on my car. Hyundai East rand mall then received the car on 6th Feb and phoned me a day later. Issue resolved - they cleared the air flow control valves and R842 later I fetched my car the Thursday. Friday morning on my way to work same thing happened and I took it home and made alternative arrangements to get to work. Took my car back on Sat 9th Feb. They informed me full 150 000km service to be done as well as oil flow control valves to be replaced. R8300 later and fetched my car that week- service was done on 12/2. Thursday morning on my way to work engine light came on. Stopped at Hyundai AGAIN and they advised they are getting diff error codes but it;s a cold start and I need to idle my car a bit. Error was cleared by them. Riaan Bornman told me there were various error codes but they were all cleared now and off i went to work. 20 km into my trip to work the engine light came on AGAIN. Def not a cold start as their error code suggested - took it back the same afternoon. Dealer principal informed they will need to keep my car for 2 days AND they would get technical expert from Hyundai Head office to assist. That never happened!!!!! WHY NOT ! 2 days later i got a call from Wade who apparently just got back from leave that week (week after car was serviced and handed back to me on 3 diff occoasions) and now he was assigned d to look at my car. Now the engine needed a complete overhaul and Iooking at around R35 000 - R45 000. I phoned Head office and got no joy from Tyron as he informed me that he knows Wade / Dealership well and cannot tell them what to do. So Head office is not there to get clear understanding of issue at hand and act as intermediary as well as protect the customer but rather protect their "buddies" from Hyundai East Rand Mall!! They still has my car and can not give me any explanation on all the error codes they noted while the car was with them since the 6th Feb and why the error codes where just cleared resulting in my engine now needed to be redone !!! Sent Hyundai another email on Friday 22/2 and no reply from them or from Hyundai SA !!!!! The only thing they keep on telling me is that my car wasnt serviced at Hyundai on the 130 000km service but i have proof that a full major service was done by a Hyundai approved service provider (RAI compliant) and after my service I could drive for another 20 000km!!! Which cannot be said from the service that Hyndai East rand did. I have really looked after my car and had regular services done and the only think Hyundai east rand can do is to "offer to buy my car" - so I have to lose out and start paying on a car again. My car was serviced on 12/2 - Wade returned from leave a week later and now he sends me photos a week later of quality of oil in my car. Your workshop serviced the car whilst you were on leave! Replaced the oil. How does that make sense !! I also do not appreciate you raising your voice at me. Is it because I'm a women and you think your bullying tactics will work and I will just pay the money! A final comment on the report that no other faults found and all in order. I am totally disgusted and dissapointed in Hyundai East Rand mall and giving me a courtesy car from 14/2 does not make the issue go away or provide clear answers on this problem. Approaching and speaking as well as sending emails to the Dealer principal has also not been helpul at all. i have snapshots on my cellphone - diff odometer readings where the oil light came on. I also have my service passport to indicate that a major service was in fact done before the 150 000km service. I expect Hyundai SA to please step in and investigate and get back to me asap plse.
