So dissapointed!!!!! No communication at all!!!!

Good morning,

I sincerely hope someone will be able to assist us as we are really annoyed with Huyndai at this stage.

We bought a second hand Huyndai i20 in June of this year with 19000 kilometres on the odometer form a motor dealer in Klerksdorp.

We were very happy with the appearance of the car but upon receiving the car from them our troubles started. I do realize that the motor garage was responsible for some of the issues but not all.

When we collected the car we were informed that the radio is not working, Bluetooth working perfectly but no fm radio stations. Suspected that the antenna cable was out so we had to take it to a Huyndai dealer to solve the problem. No problem with this at all.

Three months down the line and barely 3000 kilometers further the car left us next to the road unable to switch gears. Phone the garage and Huyndai only to hear that the warranty on the clutch system has just expired. Okay no problem, motor dealer assists us with getting a complete new clutch kit which was done, after which we noticed that the clutch did not seem to be the problem at all but it was still replaced. Same day same thing happens, no gears. So the next thing on the list is the Master Cylinder on the clutch system, phoned Huyndai and confirmed that it is still under warranty. Arranged with our insurance to take the car on a low bed to the dealer in Tzaneen which is the closest to where we are situated, Phalaborwa.

Upon inspection at the dealership in Tzaneen the noticed that there was almost no gearbox oil in the gearbox, all good they replaced the gearbox oil and thoroughly bled the new clutch system to get all air out of the system, stated that they tested the Master cylinder and Slave cylinder on machines and confirmed that all is in order the problem should be solved. Car was also not serviced at 15000km as per service plan, Car dealerships responsibility before selling the car to us but was never done, so we had to service the car as well. No problem car dealership assisted with the costs involved. Service has nothing to do with gear changing system as it is only oil changes etc. Can not cause the problem.

After gearbox oil was replaced and system bled they test drived the car and notified us that the car is still not fixed, the suspect the problem might be the Master cylinder, which was tested with machines upon receiving the car from us and ruled out as a possibility? But okay, confirmed that it is still under warranty and it will be replaced. After replacing the Master cylinder we received a phone call saying that the car barely even left the workshop before noticing that everything is not in order, barely drove 50 meters before turning around and taking it back to the workshop. BUT, according to our tracker system on the car there was another 30km test drive done?? Not adding up but okay.

Received another phone call stating that the Master cylinder indeed was not the problem and that further investigation is needed to get to the bottom of this. It has now been another three days further with no feedback and we are still left without a car. Two weeks down the line no joy no success.

At this stage we really don’t even want the car back, as we don’t trust the car any longer and it seems like something is not being said?? We have a family which are being transported with this vehicle?

We are badly disappointed by Huyndai in general, car and dealerships and service. We even tried raising a complaint telephonically with head office but was informed they could not assist as the systems are offline. What a joke.

I sincerely hope that anyone will be able to assist as this is a really bad situation and we are at the stage of taking it to the consumers council.
