SERVICE/ASSISTANCE HYUNDAI SOUTH AFRICA

My letter to Hyundai South Africa and Hyundai Centurion:

"SERVICE COMPLAINT – Adel Myburgh – Santafe BL 94 ST GP

Who will help and what should a client do to get some good service and assistance?

1. Friday 1 July 2016 I gave in my Santafe BL 94 ST GP to Centurion branch to fix my gear box while still under warranty (The problem was a holding back feeling when reverse). They informed me at that moment that Mayfair Gearbox Centre will figure out what is wrong and fix the gearbox. They could not indicate at that time how long this would take and said at least one week.

2. Knowing by them that gearbox issues could take long they only send my car on Tuesday 5 July 2016 at 12h24 (I tracked the car via our e-toll).

3. Not hearing anything from the dealer or Mayfair Gearbox Centre I phoned Hyundai Centurion on Wednesday 13 July 2016 to try and find out how far my gearbox/car is.

4. They informed me that Mayfair is waiting for a certain part from overseas and this will only reach them by 20 July 2016. Thursday 21 July 2016 the part will be fitted, the gearbox assembled and tested and then I will receive my car Friday the 22 of July 2016.

5. Friday 22 July 2016 Hyundai Centurion informed me that Mayfair tested the car and now there is a different problem (a jerk/hard kick feeling that was not there when I gave in my car). They informed me that the car must go back to Mayfair for further testing. They only will be able to send the car on Monday 25 July 2016 as they do not have a driver.

From the beginning Hyundai Centurion said they cannot help me with a car. I really do have a problem. One or two weeks is acceptable – but we are currently on 25 days and counting.

My dilemma is my husband needs his car every day (appointments to at and away from the office). School started and kids need to be collected from school and be driven to their sport practicing and other commitments. My mother in law is currently in High Care Unitas Hospital, my grandma is also in 1 Military Hospital and as you know the service and assistance there is not good either. I really do have a critical problem just having one vehicle in our household at the moment.

I did tell Hyundai Centurion my dilemma and asked many times if they cannot help with a car and that this is really priority and they must please help to push the system along.

But as you can see the time frame as stated above, I cannot say that Hyundai gave their utmost best assistance to me and I am shocked that nobody can help with a car.

At this stage nobody can tell me how long still I have to go without a car."

FEEDBACK FROM HYUNDAI SOUTH AFRICA:

"Good day Mrs Myburgh

Thanks for bringing Your complaint to our attention. Unfortunately HASA does not have a courtesy vehicle policy in place and Your request has been sent to Nico The Dealer Principal to see if they are able to assist with a loan vehicle."
