Re: Injury Received to my forehead and nose on the 03rd September 2016 at Hyundai Strijdom Park Workshop

Re: Injury Received to my forehead and nose on the 03rd September 2016 at Hyundai Strijdom Park Workshop

With reference to my telecom with you on Monday the 05th September 2016, regarding the injury I received, caused by Tyrone one of your employees’ s extreme negligence on Saturday the 03rd September 2016, I brought my car in for a service and on completion, I asked Tyrone if my baby booster seat was in the boot as it was not visible in the car. He saw me standing there next to him and on him opening the boot, he smacked me in the face with the side of the boot causing severe trauma to my face and extreme pain. A haematoma began to develop on my forehead.

At no time did he offer me any help or anything to put on my face and I had to request from him ice, to stop the swelling which was fast developing. Eventually he brought me some ice blocks in a dirty, smelly, oily rag. After all this I was still made to pay the amount of R474.20 for the replacement of wiper blades and a rear brake light globe and labour – Invoice Number: ********** 0.

The pain had now gotten worse and I was forced to go to the emergency room at the Medicross where I had to have X-Rays of my skull and nose. I was also told that I had a severe concussion and that the more severe symptoms would set in later which they duly did.

Furthermore I became very nauseous and by this time they were now worried about internal bleeding and severe bruising. I was instructed to go straight to Morningside Clinic, where the casualty doctor immediately sent me for a CT Scan of the brain and face. I was also hooked up to an IV for the nausea and pain.

The CT scan showed a severe concussion and trauma to the skull. They wanted to keep me overnight but discharged me on condition that someone be with me at all times as there was a chance that the concussion could get worse.

I was instructed to stay home from work for 3 days and follow up with a specialist who specialises in head injuries.

On Monday the 05th September 2016, I landed back at the emergency room as the vomiting and pain had gotten worse. I was again hooked up to another IV for the nausea and pain.

I would like to put it on record that the medical bills incurred have amounted to almost R10,000.00 this being due to the gross negligence of your employee.

I maintain that Hyundai should compensate me for the pain and suffering that I had to endure. With all due respect no one from Hyundai bothered to come back to me after I informed the dealer principal, and to add insult to injury, my car has still not been fixed.

Please look into this as soon as possible. I think it is an absolute disgrace that not one person has picked up the phone to enquire whether I am dead or alive. It puts an extremely bad taste in my mouth when considering purchasing another vehicle from Hyundai

I can be contacted on **********
