Pathetic Umhlanga Hyundai services

On Wednesday 01/02/2017 - my Hyundai i20 was booked in for service. There was nothing actively wrong with the car as i have qualified mechanics in the family and being a female driver i am very concerned and alway making sure my car is road worthy. Also i wanted this service performed at an accredited Hyundai dealership for a full service history. However when the car was collected by myself from Hyundai on Wedneday at 4pm i noticed some diffrences while driving. Karishma at the service dept gave me a break down of all the stuff "faulty in the car" - starter motor, break lights switch, shock saddle, rear and front breaks. I was told they have put through a claim from SA warranty . Never the less i drove from Umhlanga Hyundai to Newlands West. On saturday my husband drove the car from Newlands West to Verulam and noticed the car had a miss. It became quiet severe but we managed to drive the car back to Newlands West. On sunday morning he contacted Hyundai roadside assist and he was told there is nothing anyone can do as it is a Sunday and they are closed.

On Monday - 06/02/2017 at 6:40am my husband and myself were waiting at the service dept of Hyundai Umhlanga. The car was sent in again by Justin (service manager) and he promised to keep us informed - it was 10:55 when i called and insisted to speak to Justin or Karishma - niether were available to take the call. At 1:30pm Karishma called and indicated the coils in the car wore out all of a sudden hence the miss while driving. I questioned how the car was perfect last week and this week coils are totally worn out. She said this is mechanical and can wear out anytime. Never the less she put through the claim from SA Warranty for R25k - of which they agreed to pay R4500. She mentioned to me via telephone that she will query if they can use the R4500 from sa warranty to sort the coils as then the car will be mobile. When i went in to collect the car - i was made to sign a declaration indicating i would not be able to claim for anything else on the vehicle from sa warranty for the next 12 months. The attitude and harshness from all staff ay Hyundai Umhlanga was appalling.

When we purchased the car Hyundai sold us this brillaint liquid warranty but it was underwritten by Regent and Sa Warranties. And when you are in trouble, Hyundai will never support and assist and Sa Warranties comes with different excuses of cateogry A and B plans. This is all a money making scheme and both Hyundai and insurance gains. I simply cannot believe how Hyundai - would stoop so low, make innocent consumers pay for their dirty money making scheme.
