Pathetic Aftersales
After approximately three months of correspondence and repeated requests for additional photographs, Hyundai approved a warranty claim for rust on the above vehicle. The appointed panel beater has advised that the vehicle is required for 5–7 working days to complete the repairs.
This is an OEM fault – one that is entirely beyond the control of the vehicle owner (myself). It is therefore unreasonable and deeply disappointing that Hyundai South Africa's dealer network has failed to provide any form of alternative transport during this period. Both Hyundai Durban South and the authorised panel beater have confirmed they are unable to assist with a courtesy vehicle.
The Hyundai Venue is the registered owner's sole vehicle and is re**** upon daily for work purposes. The refusal to provide a loan vehicle effectively compels the owner to bear the cost of a hired vehicle – an expense that is unaffordable and entirely unjustifiable given that the repair arises from a manufacturer defect.
It is worth noting that this standard of customer care falls far short of industry norms. During prior ownership of a Ford vehicle, courtesy vehicles were routinely provided for warranty-related repairs without question. As a major OEM operating in South Africa, Hyundai should be held to no lesser standard. Please do your homework when you purchase a Hyundai vehicle. Their aftersales is not up to scratch compared to alternate OEM's. No attempt or resolution was made to assist me with a hired vehicle. The only response I ever received was ''Hyundai does not issue a loan vehicle as per their policy''. I will never purchase another Hyundai going forward.
