I'm not sure how Hyundai in Diep River operates or how they go about diagnosing issues with the cars they are servicing. Think they have a policy of rather replacing than diagnosing and fixing.

Took my car in a few months ago for diagnosis and repair as it was loosing power while driving and car was sounding like I have a diesel engine, while I have a normal petrol engine. They inform me that they have very bad news and that my oil pump needs to be replaced and by the looks of it I also have a bearing knock. There is no way that it can be fixed and that they will have redo my entire engine and will cost me just over 70k to fix. Or they can arrange through another 3rd party company as well for a bit cheaper but will be more or less about 50k that way.

They tell me it's pointless if I replace oil pump I should just redo engine as it's about to give issues any second. I decide to take it 2 other private mechanics to see if their assessment of my car is the same. Both the mechanics come to the same assessment that my car just needs a sump service as they can see the oil is unusually thicker than normal. And that one of my bearing nuts needs to be replaced.

So I did the sump service and replaced bearing nut and car's been running fine since then, practically a year since I took it to them. So would just like to know how *********** the type of service is there that they say I need an entire new motor when a simple oil service would have done the trick.

I have no intention of ever sending my car back to Hyundai for a service ever again
