I20 Paint factory fault - booked car 3weeks on the same day of delivery car broke down as we were driving. THEFT WHICH RESULTED DAMAGES.
As discussed, please find all the correspondence between me, head-office, and Hyundai Weltevreden Park branch, (manager and dealer principle).
When I initially dropped the car off at Hyundai on the 5th of August the car was working 100% and was only supposed to be fixed on paint work.
• Radiator cap ****** and led to further damages, was the first email I sent to their head-office. • Hyundai i20 Overheat: proof of pics taken on the same day the car was collected.
What’s app communication: Service consultant (Vanessa Krauze) and myself:
• 5 August 2024 – drove the car in their workshop for booking. Was told 3 days… No communication or from the dealership whatsoever, I had to continually call and sent messages to find out. • On the 8 August 2024 – @ 1:11pm a voice note was shared by the service consultant, that 8 days are required since the paint work required is extensive) Did not meet their deadline as promised. • During the period from the 8th of August – until the 16th of August - I had to continually do follow ups, and at this point I became suspicious why Hyundai is not updating me it is only when I called or got through was, I given excuses or stalling me for more time. • 16 August a what’s app message was shared by the service consultant confirming that the work should be completed by the following week. • Again, on the 21st of August still no update, I messaged the service consultant to query @ 12:20pm and @ 2:34pm the service consultant shared a voice note my car is ready for collection. (I responded I am on my way) • Wife had a smash and grab incident on the 15 of August at 14th Avenue where the guy ****** her and stabbed her, so she had out of hospital visits at the physiothe****** @ Flora Clinic which is around the corner from where the dealership service center is situated which on the same day and immediately after that collected our car without having any checks presented by the service consultant, which is indicated on either the below or attached emails. • 16th August an important voice note was shared by the service consultant, and coincidentally been DELETED on the same day, Colin contacted me about feedback after the car was towed back to Weltevreden Park for testing on the damages… • Mayvene drove the car home whilst I was driving the golf 7 which until we reached point A (Bergbron fish-aways) to get food before dropping the golf 7 off at home before leaving to go through to Eldorado park to extent our sympathy regarding an immediate family loss, whilst driving the car, like my wife has mentioned that the car doesn’t seem to be driving fine I drove and noted the same, however continued as I thought and said to her, it might be that the car was standing for almost a month and could be awhile before it settles, after realizing awhile while we are driving to pull the car over and check the engine, when opening the engine I noted that the radiator cap was missing and missing and immediately notified the service consultant at Hyundai about the incident telephonically, as per attached call register. The call agreed was that she will contact the service manager Colin to arrange a towing service. This did not happen as agreed. • Attachment Hyundai I20 overheat: Indicates that the same pictures were shared on what’s app @ 21:31pm with the Service consultant. • 22nd of August is when Colin reached out telephonically and as mentioned a voice note from the service consultant was deleted on what’s app which as I mentioned above contained important information.
We had also requested a security onsite for safety until we were assisted in a private capacity, we reached home midnight due to the incident. Colin the service manager at Hyundai reached out on the 22nd of August to assess what happened telephonically and even to a point, falsely accused us.
I have really tried my best to resolve the matter internally with involving their head office, however they are failing to acknowledge the pictures provided as proof that the accusation is not true. When we took the car in even though it had extensive engine work done, Hyundai 6years ago, when we bought the car from them, they had to do work on the engine, so what they are referring to already existed but lived with it and the car was perfectly fine when we took it in. I still believe it was their responsibility to ensure they do a full check before taking delivery, since they know that the car was taken to one of their third-party vendors (Florida Panel beaters).
Debbie thank you kindly and appreciate you taking the time out to guide on this matter.
Factory fault in their paint work which resulted in my radiator cap which my wife drove and experience difficulty when we contacted the Hyundai Weltevreden park who is refusing to take responsibility.
