Hyundai Umhlanga Service Department: Terrible service

My Hyundai Accent was booked in for repairs on 30 May 2016. Firstly they did not have my paperwork ready when i arrived to check the car in. Upon assessment of the car i was told the my wheelbearings need replacement and gearbox requires repairs.

My service advisor indicated that the wheelbearing will take 21 days to arrive from da supplier. Upon speaking to her on the 1 June 2016 she indicated that the part as been ordered.

With regards to the gearbox.... their specialists took a ridiculous 2 weeks to assess my gearbox. On 15 june i was told that the gearbox is being repaired. And will b ready for fitment by 17 june. The service advisor also indicated that she will timeously keep me updated. However she has not kept to her word. Over the past 3 weeks the have been contacting her but she has proven to be unhelpful and often rude.

Today, 22 june 2016, i phoned her and she informed me that she is busy in the finance dept and cannot assist me and will get someone else to contact me. I waited an hour for hyundai to return my call and they never did. I eventually called them myself. Once again i spoke to Karishma (my designated service advisor). She was unable to fully assist me stating that she is helping in the finance dept. (How is that my concern?). When i askd about the vehicle she only gave brief feedback on thr gearbox. I asked if the other part had arrived but she did not assist stating that she isnt in her dept and will call me later in the afternoon. I am still waiting for a call from her.

Hyundai Umhlanga Service Department has proven on many occasions to be rude and unhelpful. They dont keep up to their promises and dont take time to properly keep the client informed. They show no empathy towards the client and i will never go recommend them to ppl i know.

Hyundais response time wrt to their 21day waiting period for shipment of parts is ridiculous. As a huge company they should atleast have a parts warehouse in south africa and not inconvenience the client.

For the past 23days i have been stranded without a car and was forced to borrow vehicles, use public transport and unwillingly miss work.

Disgusted with hyundai
