HYUNDAI TUCSON GEARBOX / TRANSMISSION UNRELIABLE AND FAULTY BEFORE 200 000KM

Hyundai Tucson Gearbox very poor and unreliable, Hyundai South Africa Head office refuse to repair my transmission despite the fact that it is still within the warranty of under 200 000km and less than 7-years as they promised on their marketing adverts.

1. I have a full-service history on my vehicle, the first 90 000km was done at the dealership near me and the next service intervals was done at another workshop which was more reasonable on labour charges, but I always made sure i bought my service kit parts from the Hyundai dealership near me.

2. The mechanic that serviced my vehicle is also an ex-employee of the Hyundai dealership that used to service my car and was employed there as a mechanic for many many years, hence i trusted him to service my car.

3. Over a month back my gears started popping out while I was driving and I immediately took my car to the dealership with the greatest hope that they will repair it as it was still under warranty, to my surprise they refused siting the reason that I have been servicing my car elsewhere and on those reasons, my warranty has been cancelled, this is totally shocking as I understand that we are allowed to service anywhere and we will not lose our warranty, i gave them all the proof they wanted on service history and they still refused.

4. I took the matter to Hyundai Head Office and they also refused...

I find it very difficult to understand why would Hyundai not honor their promise due to having changed some filters and oil elsewhere and never touched their gearbox...;-(
