Hyundai the Glen - worst service in Johannesburg

Very poor customer service, and *********** mechanics.

I had to take my car for a roadworthy test and it failed. So I took my car to Hyundai The Glen to fix it up for the re-test. After booking in my car for replacement of the CV boots and drum brakes, I received a single phone call with a quote of "around R5500". My car's drum brakes had to be broken out of the car since they had rusted. But after doing this, they phoned me to say they don't have any brakes in stock, and that it would take 15-21 working days for them to import new brakes from Korea, leaving me without a car for 3 weeks. I requested a loan car but was told there was a waiting list and "that's just how it works". I refused to accept this and went back to Hyundai the following day just to be told they had ordered the brakes from Polokwane and my car would be fixed the next day.

So after all that stress and me having to call them (not receiving any calls to update me) they offered to settle on a final quote of R6400 for everything. The next day when my car was ready for collection I received a call whereupon the quote was suddenly R9400. I refused to accept that and negotiated until a final quote of R7400 was agreed upon. I collected my car and could feel that the brakes weren't as strong as they should be, but thought it might just be because they are new. I took my car for the roadworthy test, and it failed. Again. The brakes measured 0.58 kN where they should be at least 1.1 kN.

So I had to take my car back to Hyundai and they adjusted my brakes. While waiting for them, I overheard another customer complaining to them regarding her own car, that had been scratched on the bonnet during a service. Hyundai loaned her a car without any issues until it can be fixed. I don't see how she gets a loan car immediately but I would have to wait for one. Anyway, I took my car back for the roadworthy test after Hyundai had supposedly fixed my brakes. Only to fail AGAIN.

Hyundai The Glen has the worst service and the most *********** mechanics in South Africa. They are so useless they don't even know how to adjust brakes correctly. And their customer service is absolutely *******. I will never take my car back there for anything, not even to replace the wiper blades - which they also got wrong. Ridiculous.
