HYUNDAI SPRINGFIELD DURBAN

Issues regarding faults and defects to a brand New Hyundai H1, 9 seater bus purchased at Hyundai Springfield,

On the 7th of June 2019, I arrived at the Springfield Branch at 14:00 to sign my Liquid Contract with the F&I, the process was quick and effortless, when done with F&I, was asked to go and wait at the customer lounge for delivery of my Brand new Bus, I then waited for almost three(3) hours, without being told by our Salesman (PHILANI) as why there was such a delay, at 18:30 our salesman had told me that there was a delay with the fitment of the “towbar” of the vehicle.

1: Upon arrival of the New bus, the bus had not been prepped for delivery. I then spoke with the Sales manager and informed him that I would not be able to take delivery of the vehicle, as it was dirty and needed an Auto Valet before taking home. I was then promised that the vehicle would be cleaned and ready for collection on the 10th of June 2019. I was then given a loan vehicle to use for the weekend. 2: On Monday the 10th of June I received a call from our salesman (PHILANI), and he informed me that the bus was ready for collection. When we got there the bus was indeed ready for collection, it had also been cleaned properly. Before leaving Springfield park I checked the bus again and found that there were scratches on the rear BUMPER, to which I immediately notified the SALESMAN of this and I was assured that this matter would be resolved. According to our salesman (PHILANI), he had said that the bumper was damaged by the workshop Department when they were fitting the rear “towbar”. Upon inspection of the dents and scratches to the bumper the salesman also took pictures as evidence in the event of him claiming. I repeatedly kept on calling the salesman to find out as to when the bumper would be replaced, and he promised to have the issue resolved as quick as possible. 3: A few days after I had made collection of the vehicle, I noticed that there was a panel on the left rear side, on the inside of the vehicle that was chipped/cracked. I took pictures and sent to my salesman to notify him of such, he said that he would send it through to his managers and this would also be rectified but to no AVAIL. After seeing that nothing was being done by my Salesman, I brought the vehicle back to the Springfield branch for the sales Manager to inspect. I spoke with sales manager Mr Chetty and I was assured by him that the said panel would be replaced after he had taken pictures of the damage.

4: A few days later of the first inspection of the damaged panel, I brought the H1 to show the salesman and sales Manager that there was something wrong with the DASHBOARD on the right side near the ventilation panel, there was bubbling of the dashboard. The salesman again made me a promise that the issue again would be resolved. I kept on calling the salesman about these issues that I had that were not resolved. Mr PHILANI our salesman kept on promising to sort out these issues, but nothing has been done. 5: Another issue that I have is with the “smash and grab” that was fitted on the vehicle. This smash and grab had bubbles and was not installed properly, which I was also promised it would be replaced with a new FILM. 6: Another issue that I have is that our salesman PHILANI was not able to take us through the specifications of this vehicle, as this was our first time purchasing a Hyundai H1 bus. We have not been shown where to even look for tools to change a tyre in the event of a tyre issue. We were told by the salesman that this Bus services at 10 000 km intervals. Last week on the 22nd of August 2019, I brought through the bus for service and I spent over an hour in line to be told that my vehicle only services at 15 000 km intervals. As a customer I feel as if I have been ****** of a WONDERFUL experience of being a HAPPY FIRST TIME OWNER OF A BRAND-NEW HYUNDAI H1 BUS, since day one my experience with the sale has been HORRIFIC, the salesman has delayed every step of the way by almost three (3) Months. On the day of service, I spoke with the workshop manager, and he had said that for him to check all my issues on the said bus, I would have to drop off the bus with them for a day so they can inspect everything and give feedback.
