HYUNDAI SOUTH AFRICA

My wife bought a brand new Hyundai venue in 2020.

To date, the following items in the car DON'T WORK, and NEVER HAVE:

1) The clock is broken and time is either too fast or too slow, by a few hours 2) Phone contacts don't sync to blue-tooth, which means that we can't use the hands free to make calls. We have to manually dial on the actual phone, which as you know is ******* to do. 3) The USB connection which allows you to run the Android Play system is faulty, so connection to the system keeps dropping and you get disconnected. 3) Noisy brakes when reversing - happens sporadically (we were told to take a video, but how does one take a video when it happens occasionally?)

We were told that its "the android system" that is throwing things out. Which is utter *******!

NUMBER OF TIMES THE CAR HAS BEEN CHECKED OUT

Milnerton Branch - twice for both the brakes and clock. Problems still occurred & not resolved.

Brackenfell - 4 times - vehicle was serviced there and the clock was also checked. Problems still occurred and not resolved.

Tokai - once for the radio. Problems still occurred and not resolved.

We were told to leave the car for two weeks. When we agreed and asked for a courtesy car, we were told they don't do courtesy cars. My wife needs to travel from Cape Town to Brackenfell. Are we supposed to fund Ubers for two weeks, because of the dealerships incompetence?

Is it asking too much for basics like the clock, Bluetooth and infotainment system to work properly when you spend R400k on a new car?? Is it asking too much for the dealership to actually FIX the issues on a brand new car which is still under warranty?? Is it asking too much for common sense to apply, or to request a courtesy can when you are requested to leave the car behind for two weeks?

I posted the above to my LinkedIn profile, and today was threatened with legal action by Motus, distributors of Hyundai in SA for apparent “defamatory” comments.

The comments above are 100% factual. The time on the clock as I write this at 20:08pm 14 July, says 14:24 13 July. Its more than a day behind time, yet the legal team proudly sends me a list of all the time the car was booked in and “fixed”. Thereby confirming their ineptitude to fix the problem.

Instead of sending legal letters how about they take the time to fix the car?
