HYUNDAI SOLD ME A DEFECTIVE VEHICLE THAT WAS NOT CHECKED 'PRE-DELIVERY'

A Gentleman by the name of KOLBE at HYUNDAI TYGERVALLEY sold me a Hyundai i20 Motion with 22 500km on the clock. From the 26th January 2016 when I drove the car out of their showroom, to today, I have had all sorts of problems and issues, which is proof that the car was never checked properly 'pre-delivery'.

I still asked Kolbe why Hyundai is so determined to sell a Maintenance Plan, if they have done a thorough pre-delivery check on the vehicle they sold me!

5th Feb 2016: Discovered my new vehicle is leaking oil

8th Feb 2016: Vehicle went into Hyundai Tygervalley for repair. (I drove at my petrol expense from Tokai to Tygervalley)

12th Feb 2016: Collected vehicle from Hyundai Tygervalley.

26th Feb 2016: Called Kolbe to inform him that the brakes are making a funny, scratchy noise

27th Feb 2016: Please see below a copy of portion of email sent to Kolbe with the subject ‘Car sold to me is not okay’. My primary complaint was that the brakes were making strange, scratchy noises!

9th March 2016: Vehicle taken to Hyundai Paarden Eiland for brakes to be checked. I was told that the brakes were fine, but there is no system of checking the vehicle, as when I went back to fetch my vehicle, I saw loose cables exposed on top of the carpet in the driver's seat. Nothing is checked!

2nd June 2016: Vehicle goes into Hyundai Diep River for service. I am told that the vehicle needs new brake pads and new windscreen wipers. The Diep River branch acknowledge that the Brake Pads should not be worn out by now, neither the windscreen wipers. (I only purchased the vehicle 4 months ago, and all should have been checked). There has been no rain in CT, so the windscreen wipers have hardly been used. I knew there was something wrong with the brake pads and reportedit on the 9th March - 6 weeks after purchasing the vehicle.

Again, the vehicle was not checked.

Hyundai Tygervalley now refuses to pay for the brake pads and windscreen wipers to be replaced, and I have subsequently found out on collecting my car, that Kolbe told Hyundai Diep River to tell me that my next service (which would be the 2nd one), I must pay for as the service plan I have is 24 months or 30 000 km. This is a LIE as the service contract I have in my hands says 36 months or 75 000km. A shocking experience which requires Kolbe and Hyundai Tygervalley to be brought to task!
