Hyundai Service is PATHETIC

I am very disappointed. This is my first experience at a dealership and I am shocked. I began looking for a car in my price range last year January. I went to Hyundai Umhlanga first looking for a pre-owned vehicle. I still had my Kia Picanto (first car) that was a private purchase and had been an accident vehicle Code 3. I was ready to have a car that did not give me any problems. The sales people at Hyundai Umhlanga did not listen to me and tried to push me towards a brand new vehicle which I would not be able to afford. I got upset and left.

I then got a call from a sales person at Hyundai Hillcrest who advised he would be able to get me something I wanted. I really wanted an i20 and was okay with an older model as well. I just wanted a car that I would not be embarrassed to be driving. Eventually he contacted me again in December last year and showed me a 2020 i20 and I was ecstatic. I drove it and it was beautiful and I decided to trade my picanto in for the Hyundai. However, I am still waiting for my personalised license plates. I drove around for a month with the car being unlicensed before I had to go to the dealership to get normal plates which had been sitting on the salesman's desk. There is a noise that I am hearing when I am braking and when the car is rolling in traffic (slowly). I took the car to the workshop and they cleaned dust from the caliper sliding pins. I got back to Phoenix and the noise started again. They fetched my car and the salesman phoned me on the way to the dealership to tell me he can't hear a noise. They cleaned dust from the brakes and brought my car back. The noise is still there!!!

I am very upset. I am paying every month for a car that would not give me problems and a personalized license plate which I still do not have. Driving from Phoenix to Pinetown is not playing when it comes to fuel. They expect me, as a female, to keep driving down there only for them to clean dust!!!!!

I will be writing to Hyundai headoffice as well. I am disgusted.
