Hyundai Plumstead bad service

A long history of over 6 years of Hyundai Plumstead not getting their act together.. i have had scenarios of hanging on the phone and their front desk not answering, untidy waiting area and general feeling of being a number in a sausage machine.. I have lodged complaints and must say the consultants are friendly and the waiting area improved although not great and impersonal. The problem is that they are just not getting the ingredients together.. it’s not working. The worst of it all is their service department. For the past 2 times(within 10 months period) i brought my car in for a service and some problem i encountered.. the car lost speed and was super dangerous to overtake another car because i would just not have enough speed or loose power while overtaking. They charged me thousands of rands! They did not have parts and had to order. I had to bring the car in again...When i received the car at the end of this marathon and high cost, it was idling like s tractor. I called them back to my car and explained it surely cant feel this way after the service and repairs and amount i paid. They checked a few things for about 15 minutes and gave it back to me. Idling was slightly better but not great. It was after 5 pm and i left the premises feeling disturbed and unhappy with it all.. my car went ok but never really felt great. Ten months later (now we get to beginning September 2019) there was a slight noice and because of a long trip i planned of about 3,000 kms, i decided to take it for the next service ( minor) and let things be checked out. Huge was my surprise that i got a long list of things being not right and if i dont repair, i will get in trouble while driving - but... again.. they did not have the parts and had to be ordered from Jhb.. the car had to stay for the Friday and over the weekend and was done only on the Tuesday- never concerned about what and how you have to all of a sudden re-plan and change your schedule-all this just before a booked up and paid for holiday. I cannot understand that such a big and busy dealer should have to order from jhb and not have the parts available! So nearly R9000 later i could only hope that this was the right decision and believed that this car can only now run like a dream seeing i paid in total about R25000 for these repairs and service... When i started the car, big was my surprise that i had a car running like a tractor again.. I actually couldn’t believe my ears and eyes.. it was closing time and all packing was waiting for me/ my departure time being early the next morning ... The car felt ok the next morning but not great...but so it happened that i got the old problem back of loosing power in such a bad way that 550 km further i could go no further- i reached a town where i had to overnight and could not reached my booked accommodation in a town 200 km further-a garage at a petrol station tried to help but we decided i should try reach Upington the next day- they will wait for my call when i get there- if not, the friendly N- Cape person would drive out and look for me- it would mean i was out of phone signal and did not reach Upington. I made Upington only just.. the Hyundai dealer there, i cannot fault- they were fantastic and organised a hotel while the mechanic started working. They also phoned Plumstead to find out what they did to try figure out what could have gone wrong. Next morning and one day behind my holiday schedule i got the car back with a petrol filter that was replaced (total bill just over R400!)- for the first time it was running smooth and all went well. I started relaxing...just over a week later I reached home safely and car was still running good... Huge was my surprise that when i took the car on its second drive of about 30 kms.. it all of a sudden lost power again and didn’t want to go anywhere... luckily it happened close to home! It was towed in to a service station that evening just to be able to keep it safe and the next morning towed again out to Plumstead Hyundai - that was this past Thursday. Needless to say that by now i am fuming and not at all willing to pay a cent more and putting my foot down that this problem be solved at their cost. I asked them to keep me posted but had to phone Friday because no one kept me posted about if they busy, have they found the problem or when the car will be ready... so now we shall see what happens Monday but i feel communication, workmanship and service out to the customer as in the inconvenience one goes through is appalling I certainly hope i get it back Monday with the problem solved that i can end my history with them and start a new chapter and it wont involve Hyundai Plumstead ever again!
