Hyundai, New thinking, New possabilities
I just bought a Hyundai i20 active 2018 two weeks ago and felt pretty pleased with it. I got the navi sd card and feeling good. I tried to connect android auto to my infotainment and it would not work so I went to the dealer and they suggested to send the radio for an update, got the radio back and was told the radio only works with Android 9 and not 10 as my phone runs on 10 How can Hyundai limit a radio to not work with Android 10, surely New thinking, New possabilities goes beyond android 9. Now I have an infotainment system that is just a radio with navi and NO ANDROID AUTO. ( The main benefits of an infotainment system ) THANKS HYUNDAI, NOT FEELING SO PLEASED NOW

28 Apr 2021, 18:57I have contacted Hyundai and they kindly got back to me ( My apologies to Hyundai.)and found that the problem is not with the Hyundai infotainment system but the Samsung android version 10, Samsung android 10 is not compatible with the Infotainment system. So who is to blame now. Google android or Samsung?... This is poor work as all new vehicles are coming out with infotainment systems and Google android /Samsung should be aware of this...

I have contacted Hyundai and they kindly got back to me ( My apologies to Hyundai.)and found that the problem is not with the Hyundai infotainment system but the Samsung android version 10, Samsung android 10 is not compatible with the Infotainment system. So who is to blame now. Google android or Samsung?... This is poor work as all new vehicles are coming out with infotainment systems and Google android /Samsung should be aware of this...

10 May 2021, 16:32After a lot of investigation and discussions with Hyundai support and posting above I eventually got the bad news that my infotainment is the A6 7" screen and is basicly *******, it is just a radio with RDS, the navi is only working because I paid R2400 for sd card.
The so called infotainment cannot work with Android auto because the motherbord is not compatable.
The sad part is I have always wanted an infotainment system with all functions and sold my i30 to the i20 as it is advertised with infotainmet,but I hit a blunder at my cost,now I am back to square one with a radio and RDS. Unless I fork out R10000 to R15000 for an android system.
I do not know why Hyundai puts in these low cost radios and advertise some thing else.
As a retired person I thank you Hyundai for what I have bought under the impression that I was getting the real deal...
