Hyundai lack of response.
I purchased a Hyundai IX35, brand spanking new, in 2012. I have always been very particular about my car, in the manner in which I drive and care for it. It has a full service history and only has about 86000km on the clock, in 2021. Shortly after the purchase there was a problem with transmission/gear changes and lack of power when going uphill. This was brought to Hyundai's attention and after a while they requested that we return the vehicle so that they could solve these problems. Recently while on our way to Herm****, the oil light came on, but then soon went off again. I immediately went to the nearest service station to check this out, and was told that the oil and water was perfectly fine and that no oil was necessary. This was also a routine that I always followed when filling up my car with petrol, namely to check the oil, water and the tyres too. We continued on our journey to Herm**** and suddenly heard a slight noise from the engine, we immediately pulled over to investigate this sound. On trying to restart the vehicle there was little response. I immediately contacted my insurance company in this regard, to have the vehicle brought back to Cape Town, on a flat bed truck. I also had to arrange and pay for someone to transport us back to Cape Town. The vehicle arrived the following day. On consulting with a Hyundai mechanic regarding the vehicle, we were told that the Hyundai IX35, 2010 and 2012 Models had a history of this problem. The mechanic was very suprised to learn that I had only done 86000km when experiencing this problem. My husband therefore contacted Hyundai head office client services, on Friday 03/09/2021, and was told to please email them, to ***, in this regard. Needless to say we have had no subsequent response from Hyundai, to this date, and i am very unhappy with this lack of service provision.
