<p>13 September 2016</p> <p>Matter between myself & KIA Heidelberg, Gauteng</p> <p> </p> <p>I would like to express my utmost disappointment with the service I received from your Kia dealership in Heidelberg.</p> <p>Saturday 13 August , accompanied by my son we visited your Heidelberg dealership to view the Picanto and Hyundai. Monday 15 August 2016 we went back and I purchased a new Picanto, R170 000 cash deal.</p> <p> We said to the salesman (Kyle) that I have a special request. My husband passed away in December, and he was the owner of a private licence plate. I asked him if it would be possible to register the Picanto on that private licence plate number. Kyle said it wasn’t a problem and could be done. He made a copy of the PLN2 document and my ID, and I had to mail him and a copy of my late husband’s ID and my proof of address. I told Kyle that I had in actual fact inherited this personal number and if necessary I could ask my estate lawyer for a letter. Kyle said if it was needed, he would give me a call. I explained to Kyle that private number was very special and sentimental to me.</p> <p>During this time my son was so impressed that he booked his wife’s Picanto in for its service due. But what a disaster that turned out to be! Although Siya has offered him the next service free of charge, what happened there was also totally unacceptable behaviour towards a client. Are these people not trained or what!</p> <p>On 19 August my son and I drove to Pretoria. It was the first trip out of town. On reaching 120km/h we could clearly hear a whoop-whoop noise. Almost like a bearing noise. On returning to Nigel my son called Kyle and reported the noise to him.</p> <p>Monday morning 22 August Kyle came to my house to collect the vehicle to drive and to hear the noise. He brought the vehicle back in the afternoon, and gave me a document of proof that the vehicle was checked for balancing and alignment, no fault found. But the noise was still there. Then Kyle tells me that I must drive the vehicle like that and after about 1000km the noise will go away by itself!! According to him the noise is not a problem and is caused by the little rubber knobs on the new tyres! What a joke, never have I heard anything so silly before! Kyle also did the licensing and gave me the registration plates.</p> <p>After careful inspection my son realised that the vehicle had been registered on the name and ID of my late husband. He phoned Kyle who said he was only a salesman and referred him to Gavin (sales manager) and Siya (DP)</p> <p>23 August we had a meeting with Siya and Gavin. Siya said that is wasn’t a train smash and the he would sort out my problem, and also admitted that it was unprofessional of Kyle to talk such utter nonsense and expect us to believe it. We were asked to leave the vehicle there. Gavin said they would change the mags/tyres. My son phoned them every day for 3 days in a row to follow up. It took them exactly 3 days just to change 4 wheels! On 26 August I had to go to Heidelberg to fetch the vehicle. The noise had been sorted out by replacing the mags and in actual fact there was fault found on one of the mags. But the licensing and registration was still not corrected.</p> <p>Several times my son called Siya to follow up on the licensing and registration problem. And all Siya would say is “it’s not a train smash and it will be sorted”. After threatening him, a driver came on Thursday 8 September with the registration paper and new licence disc. The licence plate was as I requested 001PCM GP, but the disc Kyle stuck in the vehicle was still the disc belonging to my deceased husband. The new registration was now on my name, and the new licence disc now had a completely different reg number!</p> <p>So the NATIS paper, the licence disc and the number plates are all now different . According to the traffic dept the vehicle is registered on the new licence disc number, which differs from the number on the NATIS paper. How is that possible? And that my husband’s personal licence plate number no longer belongs to me but is now back in the system! That number is extremely sentimental to me, what did these people do!?</p> <p>In less than a month, with ****m on the clock, my so called “new” Picanto has had two owners, one of who is my late husband, 3 different registration numbers, and is now registered as a “used” vehicle, and still the numbers don’t correspond.</p> <p>How on earth did they manage to do all these changes! How did they manage to take the vehicle off my late husband’s name without his signature? All I’m requesting is for the vehicle to be registered 001PCM GP, on my name with the appropriate matching licence disc, registered as a new vehicle. How difficult can that be for them to understand?</p> <p>I am a widow, and my son’s have been helping me as much as they can. But this matter now needs higher attention from someone capable, as the people at Kia Heidelberg are clearly ***********. If I had a choice I would cancel this deal and rather buy somewhere else. I am sick and tired of Kia Heidelberg’s excuses.</p> <p>My husband and I purchased many new vehicles in the past, but never have I had such a bad experience just to get a vehicle registered!</p> <p> </p> <p> </p>
