Hyundai Germiston- Disgusting Service
I bought a car at Hyundai Germiston, assisted by Mike Motaung who was not keen on assisting me when I walked in. I had to go to him at his desk to ask for his assistance, after walking on the floor viewing cars.
I informed Mike that I was looking for a car with a navigation system. He said the navigation will need an SD card and since I had chosen a white colour, he would actually give me the SD card, I would not need to buy it. My understanding was that the SD card was for storage. When I took delivery, I asked about the SD card, he said Kavita, the Business Manger did not include it in the finance agreement, but I can come buy it later. I asked how much, he said it is R2 000. I said, I would buy my own as an SD card costs way less than that. Mike had promised me an SD card which he did not deliver as promised and blamed Kavita for this. I then went and bought my own SD card which didn't work as the SD Card sold at the dealership actually contains the software for the navigation on the car. I went back to Mike to tell him that the navigation does not work even though I have bought the SD card. He was also suprised as he did not know that the SD card sold at Hyundai is what contains the software, all he knows is that I need an SD card. He even asked if where I bought the SD card, they tested it.We asked another colleague of his who cleared the confusion. So Mike promised me a car with a navigation system, but the car does not have the navigation software, he promised me the SD card with the software which he did not deliver on as it was not included in the finance agreement by Kavita. On the day I went back to enquire about the SD card, I spoke to Kavita, who went into the Dealer Principal's office and came out saying they will try to open the finance agreement to include the SD card. She would call me the following day, to date she never called. I even had to ask Mike for a key holder, I bought a new car and was not even given a key holder. I had to insist on the key holder which he said he didn't know where they were, they were locked up, eventually he found one.
I went to collect my number plates on 2 January 2020, Mike was on leave and I was assisted by another salesman. The number plates could not be attached to the car as they did not have a working Prop-brevet (not sure about the spelling). I went at about 14:30 and the guy said the guys that the people that work at the workshop e had gone home and he could only find that one prop thing that doesn't work properly. He didn't even know how to use it. He insisted I come back on Monday, 6 January, I said I will be working on the Monday. I asked will they not open the Friday and Saturday and he said I could try my "luck". The 2nd of January is a work day and this is the time I had to collect my number plates. For him to say I could try my luck left me hopeless. I took the number plates with .
Hyundai Germiston service has been poor throughout the whole process of the purchase of my new Creta, from when I walked in, to when I was not advised properly on what the SD card contained and being promised the SD card which was not given to me , last to the collection of the number plates which could not be attached to the car, being advised to come back the following week.
I called their customer care line this morning, no response, called head office which put me through the customer service which did not answer, called Germiston dealership, Dealer Principal is not in, will be back on Monday.
I regret buying the car at this dealership and I will never buy another Hyundai vehicle. I have always driven a Hyundai vehicle, I traded in mt Hyundai 130 which I had bought brand new in 2012 from Hyundai East Rand.
