HYUNDAI DURBAN SOUTH
0 stars wasn’t an option.
Reception in all departments - Avoidant, keeps pushing the calls to other departments and keeps circling.
Lack of communication between departments.
Service provided previously - Air con drainage pipe wasn’t connected after part replacement, it had drained INTO the car and caused mould on the floor of the car. This wasn’t picked up immediately as I drive my car 2x per week and the water collected in the back.
Rectification - Valet offered. Dropped car on Friday morning at 7am, fetched at 4pm after being told 3pm or earlier (I missed meetings and client calls as I got there at 3pm but had to wait because the lady was “Re-doing” it). The car was dripping from the doors, there was still soap in the door handles, and the seats were soaked. Told to leave my doors open at home (outside and get my car ****** or ruined by the animals in my area?). Couldn’t drive out as the steering wheel and pedals were slippery.
Monday - Not dry at all. Asked to collect on Tuesday.
Now, how sure is Hyundai Durban South that letting my car sit over the weekend at their premises STILL WET wont cause more mould? Science says it will. Its been wet for 4 days.
If Hyundai offers a valet service but does not have the required tools to do so, it should be outsourced to a professional. The tools in reference would be a shop/wet Vac, which would have removed the bulk of the water, and it would have probably been damp, but that’s a better starting point to dry from. Guaranteed all Valet businesses have these.
Tuesday - Went to collect. Car was still dirty and had build up of grime in the door handles, car was scratched/dented (Awaiting security footage as the mark was not there prior to drop off). The car also wouldn’t start, this is because the plugs etc were wet. I was told that they didnt do a mould treatment only an airosol antibacterial. They tried to give me their opinion on how mould works, which was wrong as I know how mould/fungi/bacteria works. The outside of the car was dirty. I was then told that it was an inside valet only. If it was only an inside valet why is the engine bay wet, which was the cause of it not starting.
I have asked to review security footage, still waiting on that.
So in sequence my cars AC drainage wasn’t connected by their service technician, my car got wet as it drained into the car, my car got mould, valet left the car even wetter, stayed at the workshop to dry, had no car for 5 days, received the car still covered in grime and wouldn’t start. All this because someone forgot to connect a hose.
Questions I need answered
Why were my seats wet? Only the floor of the car was wet to begin with. Why was this not priority? Why did my car not start? Details please. Not replacing a pipe after a service could have been detrimental, what if it was an engine part? What actions are going to be taken to prevent others from receiving the same poor service? Which service centre can I go to in future? What will be done about the amount of stress Ive been put through because of poor service, will there be compensation, an apology, anything? Will hyundai hire professionals?
I will not return to Hyundai by any means, unless I require a major service or require a service under warranty. In future, another brand of car will be bought.
Disappointing, unprofessional and embarrassing
